— Steven Frye, a technician for McKee Foods Transportation, won the Arkansas Trailer Technician Championship held July 14 at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. The event is hosted by the Arkansas Trucking Association.

Frye, who earned the most cumulative points, was one of 20 trailer technicians to compete in the eight technical classes and a written exam.

Frye, a master ASE Truck and Advanced ASE L2 technician, has worked for McKee Foods Transportation for 6 years and has served the industry for more than eight years. He resides in Decatur with his wife Julie Thoa, daughters Olivia and Mallissa, stepson Johnathan Vang and stepdaughter Vivienne Vang.

McKee Foods Transportation brought a strong team to the competition, winning the technician team award. Frye's colleague, Eric Rusk, won the grand champion title in the truck technician division.

"These professionals are knowledgeable of industry regulations and are experts on what it takes to run the machines that move Arkansas' freight safely. This competition is our opportunity to recognize and celebrate that knowledge and expertise," said Shannon Newton, president of the Arkansas Trucking Association. "Steven's performance and that of the entire McKee Foods Transportation technician team represent our industry's continual commitment to safety, equipment knowledge and professionalism," Newton continued.
