Senior Housing features emergency safe room

GRAVETTE -- Jerry Mitchell, executive director of the Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas, recently issued a reminder that the North Arkansas Senior Housing of Gravette, managed by the Agency, houses a 762-square-foot Emergency Shelter Safe Room. The safe room houses up to 90 people and provides protection to residents of the property, Billy V. Hall Senior Complex, Garden Walk of Gravette, visitors to the properties, staff and residents living within a five-minute arrival.

The shelter reduces the likelihood of wind-related disasters by providing protection from winds ranging from 75 to 250 miles per hour. It is located behind the property and has a driveway with directional signs to the building.

The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas manages 13 complexes in Baxter, Benton, Carroll, Marion and Washington counties. All complexes are Equal Opportunity Housing.
