September is Library Card Sign-up Month

GENTRY -- September is Library Card Sign-up Month. Libraries nationwide, including Gentry Public Library (in conjunction with the American Library Association), are joining efforts to offer library card sign-ups.

At Gentry Public Library, cards are free and do not expire. A public library is a useful place for such activities as book clubs, spring-break activities and summer-reading programs, along with other programs throughout the year.

In Gentry, patrons can borrow up to five books, five audio books and five DVDs for two weeks at a time. In addition to being able to check out items, a library card gives patrons access to library computers, as well as eBooks through the website, www.gentrylibrary.us, or downloaded via the Overdrive app and accessed via ArkansasLibrary2Go using a patron's library card number. The library also provides free Wi-Fi to the public, both inside the library and outside the perimeter of the library. Study areas are available on the second floor.

For those without a library card, September is a great time to visit the Gentry Public Library during our library card sign-in drive. Gentry's library is located on Main Street at Collins Avenue.
