GRAVETTE — Mary Maxine Sawyer, 79, a longtime resident of Gravette, died Nov. 29, 2017, in Springdale.

She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Witter, to Floyd C. Burnett and Ethel Smith Burnett. She worked at Tyson Foods Chicken Quick in Rogers for more than 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carl “Buzz” Sawyer; her son, Steve Sawyer; one sister; and four brothers.

She is survived by three sons, Ronnie Sawyer (Brenda) of Summersville, S.C., Larry Sawyer of Gravette, Randy Sawyer (Amelia) of Pea Ridge; one daughter, Carla Kara (Jerry) of Gravette; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Peters of Gravette; and her adopted families, the Rick and Marcella Sonneberg and Ken Austin families.

Visitation will be at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, Bella Vista.
