Child porn nets federal pen for Sulphur Springs man

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Sulphur Springs man was sentenced to federal prison Nov. 29 for downloading child pornography.

Robert Joseph Davis, 20, was sentenced to eight years and three months without parole, followed by 10 years of supervised release on one count of receipt of child pornography.

Agents with Homeland Security Investigations assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce received information in April from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children a Benton County resident was uploading numerous images of child pornography to an online cloud storage account.

A subsequent investigation identified the user as Davis. A search warrant was obtained for Davis' residence, and law enforcement found multiple images of child pornography. Additionally, Davis was interviewed by agents and admitted to downloading images of child pornography.

Davis was indicted in June and pleaded guilty in August.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Roberts prosecuted the case. U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing.
