Council rezones property, approves budget adjustments

— Gravette city council members, at their regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 12, passed an ordinance rezoning property on Dallas Street S.W., owned by Matt Elder, from R-1, single family residential, to R-2, duplex. They also passed an ordinance amending Ordinance 17-30, annexing property on Ridge Road, and assigning that property to Voting Ward 3 in the city.

Council members also passed a resolution to combine the water revenue account and water operations account, open a payroll clearing account, move street operating and street reserve accounts and close the Gravette library commission account.

Another resolution approved three budget adjustments in the water department, a $25,000 increase in the repairs and maintenance budget, a $15,000 decrease in the contract labor budget and a $10,000 decrease in the professional services budget. Finally, a resolution was passed adopting a budget for the city of Gravette for the year 2018.

In other action, the council members voted to approve the 2018 holiday schedule and the 2018 schedule of the committee of the whole and regular council meetings.
