Staff hirings, transfers, resignations approved for Gravette schools

GRAVETTE -- Several changes in the staff at Gravette Public Schools were approved following an executive session at the May school board meeting. Board members approved the hiring of six new staff members, the transfer of four and the resignation of one aide. They also voted to extend athletic director Norman Mitchell's contract from 230 days to 235 days and to amend Taos Jones' contract to 230 days with a salary of $68,500 for the 2017-2018 school year.

New teachers hired for the 2017-2018 school year include Sheila Gibe as special education resource teacher at the Upper Elementary, Amanda White as first grade teacher, Diana Cradduck as kindergarten teacher, Jennifer Archer as sixth grade English teacher and Samantha Morgan as high school English teacher. Alania Carlton was hired as Gravette Middle School secretary.

Board members voted to transfer Shannon Mitchell from junior high cheer coach to senior high cheer coach, Duke Mobley from head junior high football coach to assistant junior high football coach, Kevin Cole from assistant junior high football coach to head junior high football coach and Tabby Crane from kindergarten teacher to first grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.

The resignation of aide Haylee Mitchell was accepted, effective immediately.
