She was joined at the ribbon cutting by Gravette mayor Kurt Maddox, city finance director Carl Rabey and several members of the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce.

— The Thairapy Hair Salon, owned by stylist Hilarie Dodd, opened early in May at 901 First Avenue, S.W. Dodd is a graduate of the Academy of Professional Cosmetology in Rogers and has been licensed since 2010. She has worked at Great Clips in Bella Vista and True Colors Salon in Centerton, but this is her first time in her own shop.

The shop, just south of the state revenue office, has been remodeled and new ceiling tile installed. Dodd held a ribbon cutting and open house there Tuesday, June 6.

Dodd is also a first-time homeowner. She moved to Gravette two months ago from Bentonville. She is a Bentonville native and a 1997 graduate of Bentonville High School.

Thairapy is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment only. Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays. Appointments may be made by calling 479-644-9726.

Dodd is offering a special price of $10 on haircuts for military personnel, veterans, policemen, firefighters and seniors (over 60). Regular price for haircuts is $15 or $20 with shampoo. She can also apply olaplex bond multiplier. Perms are available starting at $45 and all over-color highlights starting at $65. Brow, lip and full face waxing are also offered.

A massage therapist, Su Williams of Fayetteville, will be on duty Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Dodd suggests calling ahead to make an appointment with her. Williams' phone number is 479-802-1487.

The services of a nail tech, Sara Means, will be available beginning June 19. Appointments may be made with her by calling 479-366-0865.

Dodd will be assisted in the shop this summer by her niece, Gabby Thornhill, of Avoca. Gabby, 15, will serve as receptionist. She is an honor student at Rogers High School.

Thairapy offers a line of all organic hair-care products by Kevin Murphy. Billed as "skin care for your hair," they are fruit-based products safe for people on medication. Dodd also stocks Johnny B's, a line of hair-care products exclusively for men.
