GRAVETTE -- Kristen Fisher opened her new business, Peek-a-Bootique, June 10, at 104 Main, N.E., in Gravette. She held a ribbon cutting and open house Friday, June 16. Business hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The shop features children's clothing, sizes newborn to 7T, toys and gifts. It also carries a line of organic baby bath products including lotions, diaper cream and bath soak. Fisher says it is an exclusive line that is gluten-free, vegan and paraben-free and is good for people of all ages with sensitive skin. Custom monogramming is offered, with a discount if the item to be monogrammed is bought in-store.

Kristen and her husband Craig live in Sulphur Springs with their daughter Aubrey, 7, and son Creed, 9 months. Craig is the son of Gordon and Debbie Fisher of Gravette and a graduate of the Gravette Holiness Bible School. He works in Lowell. Kristen is a Florida native who moved to Bella Vista. She met Craig on a blind date.

The east side of Peek-a-Bootique is an event center which will accommodate up to 70 guests. Fisher invites patrons to schedule their meetings, birthday parties, wedding and baby showers there. She was on the event committee for Walmart for several years and helped plan events, including Walmart company picnics, and interned with an event coordinator in Rogers for about three years before starting her own business, Chandeliers to Cupcakes. She has contacts with many area vendors and will take care of booking, decorations and food for events. They can be scheduled by calling Kristen at 479-323-7070. She can also be reached by email at [email protected].

Fisher plans to hold wellness classes once a month at the shop. Presenters will include chiropractor Ty Russell, a child psychologist, a massage therapist who will speak on reflexology and a provider of essential oils for baby. Those interested may check the Peek-a-Bootique Facebook page for announcements of upcoming classes.

Kristin also plans to host some "Margaritas for Moms" events, after-hours "mom's night out" evenings where mothers can come to shop, relax and enjoy a refreshing beverage. She says she has long dreamed of owning a retail shop and she hopes to make it a sort of "one-stop shop with all things baby, kids too, a fun place for moms and kids to come."

Fisher will buy used baby items such as strollers and car seats, particularly 4 Moms products. She also offers the services of a children's photographer, Lindsey Schulz. Schulz, of Bella Vista, owns Bliss Happens Photography and will book a sitting at Peek-a-Bootique or at the customer's chosen location. She can be reached by calling 479-276-4215.

Kristen also devotes some of her time to her charity, Seeds of Hope, an organization for women and family members who have lost a child to miscarriage. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Friday of each month at Reset Church in Bentonville and holds two annual fundraisers.

Fisher is partnering with Jessica Stafford of the Country Man Leather shop to host an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, the evening of Gravette's Independence Day celebration. Country Man Leather will serve hamburgers and Peek-a-Bootique will provide chips and drinks.
