Lady Pioneers fall to Lady Wildcats in bottom of the seventh

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers took the lead in their first at bat against their host team, Springdale's Har-Ber High School Lady Wildcats, and continued to lead until the bottom of the seventh when Har-Ber scored three runs on two doubles and two singles to take the lead and the game, 6-5.

Gentry put two runs on the board in the first inning on a pair of doubles by Tayor Hull and Brooke Boston followed by an error. Springdale answered with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning.

Gentry added solo runs in the second, third and fifth innings on a pair of singles by Hull and Alyssa Kelton, a single by Alexis Droddy and an error, and Harley Stanfield getting hit by a pitch and then making it home on an error. Har-Ber matched the second- and third-inning runs but was still down, 5-3, until the bottom of the seventh, when the Lady Wildcats scored three and won the game with a single out on the board.

Taylor Hull was three for five with her bat and had one double. Boston was two for two and walked twice. Boston and Kelton each had two hits in the game. Boston, Kelton and Droddy each had an RBI.

Kelton pitched for the Lady Pioneers and struck out one and walked four.
