Fifteenth annual Lions Golf Classic planned

— Plans are being made for the 15th annual Lions Golf Classic. The event, sponsored by Gravette High School Boosters, will be held Saturday, May 6, beginning at 8 a.m., at Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista. It has been organized to benefit Gravette High School and proceeds from the tourney benefit various GHS activities including athletics, drama, vocal and instrumental music, cheerleaders, academic achievement awards and the arts.

Entry deadline for the tournament is Monday, May 1. Entry fee is $65 per person or $82 per person including golf fee. Participation will be limited to the first 144 entries. Both men and women golfers are welcome. Play will go on, rain or shine.

The tournament features 8 a.m. shotgun play, four-person scramble and automatic 2 putt. Prizes will be given for closest to the pin, longest drive and holes in one. A lunch for all participants will be served after play ends, at the Highlands United Methodist Church.

Sponsors are being sought for the event. Corporate sponsorships can be purchased on three levels, platinum level, $1,000, which includes eight player entries; gold level, $500, which includes four player entries; and silver level, $250, which includes two player entries. All sponsors will receive donor recognition, tee box hole sponsorship signs, course refreshments, green fees and carts.

Hole sponsorships are also available for $100 (cash or merchandise donation). Hole prize donations are welcome, as well as donations of prizes for the player gift bags. Memorial gifts and other donations are also encouraged.

Business and personal sponsorships are tax deductible. Anyone wishing to make a charitable donation to Gravette High School by purchasing corporate sponsorships or sponsoring a hole should make checks payable to Gravette School Foundation and mail to Gravette High School Golf Classic, 53 Perth Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
