GRAVETTE — The Gravette Historical Museum hosted its fifth annual My Collection exhibit on Saturday, April 22, in the museum annex. This exhibit features private collections from around northwest Arkansas and offers a chance for the community to come out, see some very high quality items and learn about those items and the hobby of collecting.
This year the popular exhibit featured collections of baseball cards, cookbooks, postcards, military medals, military relics, chickens, Watt pottery, thimbles, Mickey Mouse collectibles, cast iron, post office collectibles, pocket watches, old tools and photos of birds of northwest Arkansas.
The People's Choice award went to Don Kane this year and his collection of old tools which he refers to as "Plunder."
The museum is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and at other times by appointment. Exhibits are always free to the public.
Those interested in exhibiting their collections next year may drop by the museum, leave their names and contact information and a museum commissioner will contact them soon.
