Lady Lions fall in state semifinals to Pottsville

After a bye in the first round of state tournament play and shutting out Crossett, 3-0, on Saturday in the quarterfinals, the Lady Lions' season ended on Monday when they were shut out by Pottsville in the semifinals, 4-0, at Lonoke High School. Cally Kildow, freshman pitcher for Gravette, struck out six Pottsville batters, walking only one, but Pottsville managed seven hits and put four runs on the board while holding the Gravette girls scoreless on two hits, by Kildow and Jaki Chalk. Pottsville score a run in the first, two in the sixth and another in the seventh. The Lady Lions beat Pottsville during the regular season, 1-0, in an away game on May 6....
