Gentry Public Library Summer Reading Program

— GENTRY -- The Gentry Public Library Summer Reading Program, "Build a Better World," begins June 5th with a presentation by local beekeepers T.J. and Tonia Cook. After the presentation, participants will build a paper honeycomb and then share in reading about bees' homes. The event will be held in the McKee Community Room from 2 to 4 p.m.

Activities, presentations and giveaways are planned for children, grades K-8. Different themes examining how to "Build a Better World" will be explored each week.

Other scheduled presenters include representatives from the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, the Gentry Fire Department and the Gentry Police Department. The Gentry Boys and Girls Club, Gentry Girl Scouts and the Highfill Hometown Heroes 4-H groups will assist with crafts and reading times.

Please stop into the library to register your child. The program continues Mondays, June 5 through July 24, excluding July 3.
