GRAVETTE -- Each May the Administration for Community Living leads the celebration of Older Americans Month. This year the ACL chose the theme, "Age Out Loud," to reflect the changes in the lives of older Americans.

The Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, in honor of Older Americans Month, sponsored several speakers and scheduled activities the week of May 15 to 19. Speakers included Ron Teasley, Gravette pharmacist, on Monday; Robin Crow, from the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, on Tuesday; and Dan Yates, attorney at law, on Wednesday. On Thursday afternoon seniors enjoyed a trip to Bella Vista for a matinee movie.

Kurt Maddox, Gravette mayor, participated in the week by helping deliver Meals on Wheels on Friday. When he returned to the center after meal delivery, he drew the name for a grocery cart raffle the center has been conducting. One of the center's employees won the drawing and promptly took the cart full of groceries to one of the homebound seniors on the meal delivery route.
