GENTRY — A little mist and the threat of rain did not keep the ghosts and ghouls from their trick-or-treating rounds in Gentry on Oct. 31. Sidewalks on both sides of the Main Street were filled with children, parents, grandparents -- and sometimes their pets -- all in costume and receiving candy treats from business owners and others along Gentry's downtown business district.

The annual event, sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, churches and civic organizations usually draws more than a thousand trick or treaters.

And what better place than Gentry's Main Street to capture this year's faces of Halloween! The accompanying photos are but a few of the sometimes scary but more-often-times cute faces of local youngsters out enjoying the annual holiday and bringing home a bag of sweets.
