Grade-level student PAWS winners for the month of November are Wyatt Berger, Brady Brewer, Kailyn Deady, Luke Martin, Charleigh McGee and Kareena Sehgal.

The Glenn Duffy Elementary PAWS Program incorporates character education and positive behavior into the school community. Each month, PAWS skills are chosen and discussed in classroom guidance in relation to character education. The school staff always watches for opportunities to encourage students for excellent character, behavior or effort.

The character word for this month is Problem-solving. This is defined as focusing on the problem as it is, gathering information, then using knowledge to solve the problem. GATE teacher Lynn Johnson and Upper Elementary students Alyssa Leonard, Teagan Muldoon, Leah Weiberg and Kash May presented a skit to teach about problem-solving. They shared, "Whenever you have a problem, ask some questions first. That way maybe you can solve the problem for yourself or with the help of your friends."

Kindergarten teachers taught about the month's skill, ignoring. Steps to practice this skill include 1) look away, turn away or walk away from the person or distraction; 2) close your ears and do not listen, 3) be silent and do not say anything. Kindergarten teachers are Teresa Spence, Christina Hartman, Autumn Philips, Misty Arment, Kristy Sanders, Maryjo Norberg and Diana Cradduck.

Winners of the Bus Safety Poster Contest at Glenn Duffy Elementary were also recognized. They are Molly Flynt, Layton Magee and Isaac Nichols.
