Great Lego Build-off draws 12 entries

— The fifth annual Great Lego Build-Off, sponsored by Imagine Before and After School Care, drew 12 entries. The event was held Saturday, Nov. 11, at Imagine. No kits were allowed. Each entrant was required to bring an original creation.

Garrett May, age 9, of Gravette, took first-place honors in the competition with his "Zombie Apocolypse" entry. Gabriel Thomas, 9, of Sulphur Springs, was the second-place winner with a headless elephant. Ethan Scott, 10, of Bella Vista, was the third-place winner with a display of bionic alien figures. Each prizewinner received a hat, a Lego cup and a set of Legos.

The youngsters enjoyed playing games, including Lego video games. They also participated in doing crafts and working at a play table covered with a large assortment of Legos. Refreshments were served. Each child who entered received a goodie bag to take home.

Chris and Tina Crose, owners and operators of Imagine, have sponsored the Build-Off since 2013. Activities at Imagine include a Lego Club, Pokemon Club, Hot Wheels Club, Minecraft Club, Sewing Club, Art/Comic Book Club, Teen Time, Sign Language, Yoga and Photography.
