Vaughn EH Club visits Hobbs State Park

The Vaughn Extension Homemakers Club visited the Hobbs State Park Visitor Center on November 1 instead of having its regular monthly meeting. Members enjoyed learning about the history of Arkansas' largest state park and seeing the animals that make their home in the park. After the tour, the 11 members traveled back to Rogers for lunch and a business meeting.

The group had adopted CORE (Community Out Reach Extension) as their yearly service project to help provide nonfood items to persons in Benton County. Items are given out monthly at the Gravette Civic Center. Lavon Stark, community service chair, read a letter from CORE announcing a name change since receiving its nonprofit status. The organization is now called Essentials Outreach. Members brought 28 bottles of dishwashing soap to be donated this month.

President Carla Bauer announced the County Fall Council Luncheon would be held in Siloam Springs Nov. 17. The club will hold its annual Christmas party on Dec. 6 in the home of Karen Stamps.
