Four senior girls vie for title of basketball homecoming queen

GENTRY -- It's basketball homecoming time early this year, with the winter coronation exercises set for Friday night at the Gentry High School gymnasium.

Gentry High School candidates for the title of basketball homecoming queen are Haley Hays, Chastery Fuamatu, Hannah Boss and Kya DeZurik. The four seniors are members of the Gentry girls' basketball team.

The winner will be announced at coronation ceremonies at 5:15 p.m. on Friday in the GHS competition gym -- also earlier than usual. The winner will be crowned and presented with a special bouquet of flowers by a player from the boys' team chosen to be king at the ceremonies.

A pep rally will also be held at the high school at 2:15 p.m.

Varsity games begin at 6 p.m. when the Lady Pioneers take on the Lady Wolves of Lincoln High School. The Pioneers face the Wolves following the girls' game, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
