Highfill EHC makes blankets, napkins as service project

GENTRY -- Highfill Extension Homemakers Club held a community service work meeting on Nov. 13 at the Gentry Library. For the community service project this year, the club chose to work with New Beginnings Learning Academy.

The 10 members present, along with chairman Margaret Bishop, made 23 blankets and 29 cloth napkins. They planned is to deliver the items Nov. 20.

During a short business meeting, a motion was made by Sue Etris and seconded by Linda Coker to continue the community service project with New Beginnings and help with any need the organization has.

The club had 140 volunteer hours.

There will not be a December meeting. The next meeting will be at 10 a.m., Jan. 15, at the Gentry Public Library. Guests are welcome.
