— "Who will be crowned the 2017 Decatur High School homecoming queen?" This question that will be answered at 6 p.m., Oct. 13, at Bulldog Stadium in Decatur.

Vying for the top spot this year are senior maids Mathline Jesse, Leticia Fuentes, Jazmine Godines and Cheyanne Malone. They will be escorted by Alex Lee, Taylor Haisman, Dylan Wells and Sebastian Perez. Other members of the homecoming court include Savanna Dodson, junior maid; Renae Nino, sophomore maid; Aubrey Bartlett, sophomore maid; and Ithzel Martinez, freshman maid; and their escorts Sam Philpott, Cayden Bingham, Charlie Baltrusch and Rigo Rubi.

The celebration begins at 1 p.m. with the third annual homecoming parade through downtown Decatur. Lineup begins at 12:30 p.m. at Decatur City Hall.

Students from Decatur Pre-K, Northside Elementary, and Decatur Middle School will join the festivities on the east side of Main Street near the Dollar General store. Drivers along Main Street and Roller Avenue are asked to take extra precaution when driving through these areas as students from the Middle School will be walking to the parade.

Homecoming continues with a pep rally in Peterson Gym at Decatur High School around 2 p.m. (following the parade). The Homecoming court will be introduced at this time.

Evening events start with the junior-high game against the junior Rebels of JC Westside at 5 p.m at Bulldog Stadium. The presentation of the homecoming court and the coronation ceremony will follow the junior high game at around 6 p.m.

The Decatur Bulldogs face off against the JC Westside Rebels from Coal Hill at Bulldog Stadium for the fourth conference contest of the season. Game time is about 7 p.m.
