Gerner crowned Gravette homecoming queen on Friday

— Hailee Gerner, a Gravette senior on the Lady Lions volleyball team, was selected as Gravette High School's 2017 homecoming queen. Seniors Isabella Dell and Katie Garrett were runners-up in the competition.

After her name was announced, Colton Grimes placed the crown on Gerner's head and Grimes and Kenton Tajchman gave her a ceremonial kiss on the cheek at Gravette High School's homecoming festivities on the field in Lion Stadium before the game against Berryville on Friday night. Both Dell and Garrett also received a crown and a kiss from their escorts.

Other members of the homecoming court this year included flower girls Molly Niebruegge and Whitley Vore; freshman maids Lizzy Ellis and Shylee Morrison; sophomore maids Payton Hammers and Gracie Berger; junior maids Laney Houghton and Brooklyn Lykins, senior maids Carlie Ericson and Kaitlyn Loyd; escorts Logan Rachel, Hunter Cole, Seth Spencer, Derek Cravens, Daniel Huntsman, Brady Moorman, Aidan Patton, Bailey Soule', Gunner Berger, Beau Hamilton, Justin Stelting, Austin O'Brien; and cheerleaders Darlene McVay and Ashlee Newburn.

Other events on Friday included a homecoming parade at 10 a.m., followed by a homecoming carnival at the high school and a pep rally.

And, to top off the evening, the Gravette Lions defeated the Berryville Bobcats in the football game by a score of 37-7.
