GENTRY -- A fire destroyed a three-story house on Saturday, according to Benton County Fire Services.

A Gentry firefighter saw the smoke coming from the house on Mackey Road off of Taylor Orchard Road and reported it. The call went out to fire departments in the area around 11:50 a.m, said Eric Smith, Benton County assistant fire marshal.

Gentry, Siloam Springs, Gallatin and Highfill firefighters responded and put out the flames consuming the structure.

"The house is a complete loss," Smith said.

The family was not home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt, Smith said. Red Cross was providing temporary housing assistance to the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected, he said.
