Hiwasse Fall Festival planned Sept. 23

HIWASSE -- The community of Hiwasse will host its annual Hiwasse Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. Activities will be held at the Hiwasse community building, 13680 Fire House Lane in Hiwasse.

Hamburger or hot dog meals, including chips, drink and dessert, can be purchased for $5 each. Farmers' market vendors will have booths set up, selling a variety of locally grown fresh produce. Inflatables, games, pumpkin painting and lots of free fun will be available for the kids. Music and karaoke will be provided by Randy Steele.

The chili cook-off, always a popular feature of the festival, will be held again this year with the winning chili cook receiving a $50 cash prize. Chili samples may be purchased for $1 each. Anyone interested in entering the chili cook-off should call 479-531-0472.
