Lions run over Bulldogs for first win of season

— The Lions got the better of the visiting Jay (Okla.) Bulldogs on Friday, scoring three touchdowns in the opening quarter and another in the third quarter to take a big 26-7 win in the nonconference game on Friday night.

Austin O'Brien ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead the Lions to their first win of the season in their final nonconference game. Brady Moorman added a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown. Bailey Soule' also scored for the Lions (now 1-2).

Jay's only touchdown came just before the end of the first half.

The Lions picked up 224 yards on 44 carries in the game and another 109 yards on five received passes. O'Brien had 144 rushing yards and 48 passing yards. Tajae White had 70 rushing yards, and Brady Moorman received two passes for a total of 53 yards.

Gravette's defense made it tough on the Jay offense and sacked Jay's quarterback five times resulting in big losses for the Bulldogs. Austin O'Brien and Colton Grimes were credited with two sacks each. Gunner Berger sacked the Jay quarterback for a 2-yard loss. Bailey Soule' and Seth Spencer were also in on the plays.

O'Brien, Moorman and Hunter Cole all picked off Jay passes in the game.

The Lions host the Lincoln Wolves at 7 p.m on Friday for their first conference game of the season.
