Branscum signs with Bacone College

Gravette senior Kyrstin Branscum, who helped lead the Lady Lions to their best season in a long time, signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla.

Branscum, a member of the All-NWA Democrat-Gazette Division II team, averaged 12 points and 2.5 rebounds for a 25-8 team last season.

"Kyrstin has had a great career at Gravette," Lady Lions' coach Will Pittman said. "She scored just under 1,000 points in her career here. I thought she was one of the toughest matchups offensively in our league. She is a strong athletic player, who played a forward spot for us, but she is an outstanding shooter as well. Because of her athleticism and shooting, I think her game will translate well into college.

"Coach Nichols and Bacone College are getting a good one. I look forward to seeing Kyrstin embrace this next opportunity in her basketball career."
