Lady Lions drop two to Lady Wolves, Lady Blackhawks

GRAVETTE -- The Gravette Lady Lions had a tough time getting past the Lincoln Lady Wolves and the Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks last week as they dropped two conference games by one point each.

In the April 9 away game in Lincoln, the Lady Lions faced the Lady Wolves in the first conference game of the week.

Gravette got the contest off in the first inning on a single by Emily Ellis to drive one run home.

In the seventh inning, a rally by Lincoln tied the game at five each, sending the contest into an extra inning. An error on a sacrifice fly gave the Lincoln Lady Wolves a 6-5 win over the Gravette Lady Lions.

Bailey Elmore was on the mound for the Lady Lions, pitching seven innings and throwing 104 pitches. She allowed seven hits and five runs, striking out three and walking one.

The Lady Lions returned to Gravette for a home game with the Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks April 10.

Pea Ridge took a 5-4 win in the contest.

Elmore was once again on the mound for the Lady Lions, completing 6.2 innings and pitching 110 balls. She allowed 6 hits, five runs and five earned runs while striking out five and walking 1. She was relieved with two outs in the seventh inning by Lexi Gerner who pitched two times for the final out of the contest.
