Gentry baseball, softball teams have mixed week

GENTRY -- The Pioneers defeated West Fork in an away game on Thursday but lost to Life Way on April 17 and to Shiloh Christian on April 16.

Game statistics were not made available to the Eagle Observer by press time, but the Pioneer win over West Fork was a narrow one, 8-7. Gentry lost, 12-5, to Life Way and was shut out, 9-0, by Shiloh Christian.

GIRLS

The Lady Pioneers shut out Huntsville on Friday, 10-0, but lost to Gravette on Thursday, 10-2, to Lincoln on April 17, 3-0, and to West Fork on April 16, 10-6.

Raegan Jude pitched in the Huntsville shutout. She allowed five hits and no runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Randi Jo Bolinger drove in four runs for the Lady Pioneers on two home runs -- one in the first and the other in the third. She was two for three at the plate.

Against Gravette, Gentry's only two runs came in the third inning. Harley Stanfield was crdited with one RBI.

At West Fork, Gentry scored five in the second and another in the fifth; but that wasn't enough to overcome West Fork's 10 runs on 14 hits.

Raegan Jude pitched four innings, allowing 12 hits and 10 runs, while striking out three and walking one.

Gentry had nine hits in the game. Bolinger, Stanfield and MeledyOwens each had two. Bolinger had two doubles, and Alexis Droddy one double in the loss.
