Gentry wins on soccer field

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers came back in the second half with Ariel Nix, Lexie Fowler and Katie Smith kicking in goals to take a 3-1 win over the visiting Lady Highlanders of Eureka Springs on April 3.

Katie Smith was credited with two assists, and Haley Hays had one. Chastery Fuamatu, Gentry's goalie, had seven saves.

Eureka Springs scored its only goal in the first period.

The Gentry boys defeated the Highlanders, 3-2, in the second game on April 3. Gentry was down 2-1 at the end of the first period but picked up two goals while holding Eureka Springs scoreless in the second period.

Edgar Reyes, a Gentry freshman, scored twice in the game. Gentry senior Kevin Ochoa scored once. Ochoa and Giovanny Ramirez, a junior, were credited with assists in the match.

Ramon Arguijo, a junior, had five saves as goalie.

On April 5, the Pioneers defeated Lead Hill, 7-1. Gentry scored six goals in the first period and another in the second for the win.

Scoring goals for Gentry were Ochoa (3), Hunter Mills (2), and Holden Willis and Reyes (1 each).

Arguijo had five saves as goalie.
