Pancake breakfast opens Gravette Day activities

GRAVETTE -- Gravette Day events will begin early on Saturday, Aug. 11, with the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast at the Gravette Middle School cafeteria. Serving will begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 10 a.m. Cost for the all-you-can-eat breakfast, including pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee, is $5. There is no cost for children ages 6 and younger.

Betty Howard, a local quilter who has made and donated many quilts for benefits in the area, quilted a beautiful bed covering featuring embroidered stars and flowers. The Kiwanis Club will raffle the quilt, with proceeds to go to help fund their service projects. The drawing will be held at the conclusion of the pancake breakfast.

The donated quilt has been displayed at Bank of Gravett and at Arvest Bank. Quilt chances are available at both banks or from any Kiwanis Club member and will also be available at the door. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
