Pioneers, Bulldogs participate in Gentry Cheer Competition

GENTRY -- Several cheer teams from northwest and central Arkansas gathered at Pioneer Gym in Gentry for the Pioneer Invitational Cheer Competition on Thursday.

Some of the high school and junior high teams participating in this year's event included Bentonville, Pea Ridge, Ozark, Springdale, West Fork, Siloam Springs, Decatur and the host team, Gentry.

The results of that competition are as follows:

Decatur -- first place in 2A gameday;

Gentry -- first place in 4A performance;

Gentry -- overall senior-high grand champion in all-girl;

Gentry stunt group made up of Emma Anderson, Madi Boyd, Danielle Spencer, Cameron Thorburn -- first place;

Gentry stunt group made up of Nicole Guntharp, Falyn Cordeiro, Ashlyn Little, Whitly Cochran -- second place;

Siloam Springs -- first place in 5A coed;

Siloam Springs Hayden Williamson -- second place in jump competition;

Siloam Springs coed stunt group -- first place.
