DECATUR -- Decatur coaches John Unger and Jeff Melton knew that it was going to be a long night for their Decatur Bulldogs as they faced the 1A Northwest conference leader Omaha Eagles at home Jan. 30. Even though a late rally in the fourth quarter would cut the lead, when the final seconds ticked off the clock, the Omaha Eagles walked away with the victory, 62-28.

Decatur faced the number one rated Arkansas state 1A player Garrett Matlock. The 6-foot, 5-inch senior towered over the Decatur players.
