WESTSIDE -- After winning big in Peterson Gym against the St. Paul Saints Jan. 5, the Decatur Lady Bulldogs took to the road to face the Yellowjackets in Kingston and the Eagles in Omaha. Two more wins were not in the Lady Bulldogs' future as they came up short in both games.

In the Jan. 9 contest, the Lady Bulldogs were up against the Lady Yellowjackets, which were in third place in the 1A Northwest standings. Decatur had its hopes for another win dashed when Kingston took control early and dominated the entire contest. Ultimately the Lady Bulldogs lost the conference matchup by 21 points, 56-35.

The Lady Bulldogs faced one of their toughest opponents yet, the Omaha Lady Eagles, Jan. 12. The Lady Eagles sat on top of the leaderboard in the 1A Northwest with a 3-0 conference record going into the Decatur contest.

For the second time in a week, the Lady Bulldogs struggled against a much more aggressive team. In the end, the Omaha Lady Eagles prevailed, handing the Decatur Lady Bulldogs another loss, 55-25.

The Lady Bulldogs were to be at home Jan. 16 to face long-time rival, the Eureka Springs Lady Highlanders (after press time). They hit the road Jan 19 at 5 p.m. to take on the Lady Saints of St. Paul.
