Decatur mayor receives certification from municipal league

WESTSIDE -- Bob Tharp, Decatur mayor, recently received his Municipal Official Certificate from the Arkansas Municipal League during its annual Winter Conference in Fort Smith on Jan. 10.

In 2010, the executive committee of the AML established a voluntary certification program for municipal officials such as mayors, city administrators, city council members and city clerks. Each participant receives 21 hours in municipal finance, personnel management and governmental structures.

In addition to Tharp, City Clerk Kim Wilkins completed her certification program on Jan. 14, 2015, and six hours of continuing education certification on Jan 1o.
