GENTRY — Janice Elaine Smith, 73, of Gentry, died Jan. 28, 2018, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.

She was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Moorpark, Calif., to Edwin True and Betty Vermillion True Clark. She graduated from Gentry High School. She married Joe Smith on March 5, 1962, in Jay, Okla. She was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ. She was the secretary and treasurer for the Monday Night Strikers Bowling League of Gentry and spent many active years with the Bloomfield 4-H Club and Springtown Extension Homemaker’s Club.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tom Smith; father, Edwin True; and stepfather, George Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Smith; son, Rob Smith and wife Sandy of Gentry; daughter, Sandra Smith of Gentry; daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith of Jay; five grandchildren, Cody Smith, Kali Smith, Perry Sullins, Dakota Smith and Katie Smith; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marion Pitts, Darleen Allen, Debbie Taylor and Carla Beeman, all of Gentry; and brother, Rick True of Bentonville.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla., with Mike Ellis and Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan, 30, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
