ROGERS -- A man died after being hit by a car Friday evening while trying to cross South Eighth Street, according to police.

Kevin Crawford, 42, of Rogers, was hit by a vehicle driven by Lanette Labarre-Amador, 44, of Gravette, as he was crossing the street. He was crossing through traffic and not at a crosswalk, according to a police news release Saturday.

Police arrived at 7:16 p.m. to South Eighth Street and West New Hope Road.

Rogers Fire transported Crawford to Mercy Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, according to the release.
