Brayleigh Hook

Brayleigh Hook, 1, of Gravette, died June 27, 2018.

She was born to Cheyanne Hook and Cody Bates on Oct. 23, 2016, at Siloam Springs.

Survivors include her parents, Cheyanne Hook and Cody Bates; and brother, Remington.

Visitation was from 12 to 1 p.m., Saturday, at The Church on the Hill in Gravette.

The funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Church on the Hill, with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gravette.

Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home of Gravette.

Dianna 'Toodie' Lea Laswell

Dianna "Toodie" Lea Laswell, 71, of Gentry, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice Home located in Fayetteville.

She was born in Siloam Springs to Earl and Maxine McNair. She loved nature and animals, especially squirrels and skunks. She worked with the state of Arkansas in animal rehabilitation. She went to tech school and obtained a degree in "computer science." She worked a few years at Ozark Electronics of Siloam Springs and also in maintenance at Rogers High School. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her aunt, Lee Twiggs.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Richard Laswell; three daughters, Dawn Officer of Tulsa, Okla., Dania Corter and her husband Jimmy of Gentry, and Delta Allen and husband Zane of Siloam Springs; one brother, David McNair and his wife Barbara of Colcord, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Grant Corter, Josh Corter, Ryan Corter, Alyssa Allen, Curtis Officer, Kaylyn Officer and Caleb Officer.

A celebration of Toodie's life will be at 2 p.m., July 7, at First Christian Church of Gentry.

Arrangements are by Epting Funeral Home of Gravette.

Ethel Frances Smith

Ethel Frances Smith, 100, of Bentonville and a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, in Bentonville.

She was born March 8, 1918, in Spring Creek, to Nathaniel Perry Norman and Ida Sultanna Huffmaster Norman. She remained active even in her last year. Having lost her husband while her daughters were still in school, she continued to run the family farm near Mason Valley, tending the beef cattle and farming the land, and then moving into Bentonville when the girls were in high school. She was privileged to help raise and care for her four grandsons. She was a cook and seamstress and enjoyed gardening. She was an active worker in both Mason Valley Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Bentonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Deward Smith; and four siblings, Ola Bequette, Wallace Norman, Lee Norman and Reba Wells.

She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Rachel Gibbs and husband George of Tulsa, Okla., Ruth Poemoceah and husband Marc (M.D.) of Gravette; four grandsons, George Edward Gibbs and wife Anna, Jonathan Gibbs, David Poemoceah, Daniel Poemoceah; and her honorary granddaughter from China, Huazhen (Jenny) Yu.

Funeral services were June 30 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church in Bentonville with Kenneth Colvert officiating. Burial followed at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements were by Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Lyman Williams

Lyman Williams of Gentry, AR died June 28, 2018, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, AR.

Lyman was born May 21, 1937, in Boatman, OK to Hugh and Dell Williams, who preceded him in death along with his wife Kathy and brothers Van and Trenton.

Lyman lived in the Gentry area for the past 65 years, where he farmed and engaged in other businesses, including hardware, health food, produce and real estate.

Lyman is survived by his wife Mary; children, Joy, Jay and wife Shirley, Delton and wife Lee, and Lorie Wagner and husband Todd; step-children, Rick Fisher, Bruce Fisher, Elizabeth Yeagley and husband David; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Twila Williams and Nora Krein-Slikkers; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Lyman is remembered for his big heart, warm smile and open home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Springtown Adventist Church outdoor pavilion on Fairmont Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
