Sulphur Springs meetings

Two meetings property owners in Sulphur Springs may wish to attend will deal with the question of whether modular or mobile homes be allowed within city limits? The planning commission meets June 7, at 7 p.m., in the Shiloh Auditorium. The city council will hold a special meeting on June 14, at 7 p.m., inside city hall.

First Baptist Church in Gentry to hold children's summer programs

Explore Club, for children who have completed kindergarten through the second grade, is scheduled to continue on Thursday, June 7, for those who have completed third through the fifth grades. Times are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vacation Bible School will be held June 17-21 for children, age 4 through ninth grade, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is "Game On: Gearing up for Life's Big Game!" Vacation Bible School set at Mason Valley Baptist

Mason Valley Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School, starting Sunday, June 24, through Friday, June 29, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone age 5 through sixth grade is welcome to come and join in "Game On!" Vacation Bible School set at Gravette church

The dates for Vacation Bible School at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette are June 10 to 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This year's theme is "Shipwrecked," and the program is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences which will allow children to see, hear, touch and even taste. The VBS will help children discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life.

Highfill Church plans Vacation Bible School

First Baptist Church of Highfill will hold its Vacation Bible School from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, through Friday, July 13. The church's Family Night will be Friday night. All are welcome to join the congregation for fun, food and fellowship.

Gentry Assembly of God to hold special service June 24

Gentry First Assembly of God is having a special service at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, called "Intensity: A Night of Worship, Prophecy and Healing." This is open to everyone of all ages, and there will be nursery available for children up through age 4.

Senior Center Fundraiser

The Gentry Senior Center, located at 121 E. Main Street, will have a fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8. For a cost of $6, guests will receive a fried chicken dinner with fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, dessert and a drink. Meals are eat-in or carry-out. Summer Reading program set at Gentry Library

Libraries Rock is the theme of this year's summer reading program at Gentry Public Library. The program is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays through July 31 and will be held in the McKee Community Room at Gentry's library. Themes include Instruments -- June 12; Voice -- June 19; History of Music -- June 26; Music Around the World -- July 3; Music, Memory and Learning -- July 10; Movie Music -- July 17; Music in Video Games -- July 24; and a Wrap Party on July 31. The reading program will include guests, games and special projects. The final party will include games, music and prizes. Children may register at the library during regular library hours. The first 45 to sign up will receive a special gift bag.

Fishing Derby to be held at Flint Creek Nature Park

A children's fishing derby for children 12 and under will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the pond in Flint Creek Nature Park. The event is sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce, and children may be registered for the event by email at [email protected].

Amateur radio club to meet June 7

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club holds its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Highland Christian Church. For those interested in acquiring an amateur radio license, the club also administers FCC exams on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. All meetings and exams are held at Highland Christian Church, located at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. (Highway 279), in Bella Vista. Decatur UMC Pantry open first, third Thursdays

The Decatur United Methodist Church Food Pantry is open the first and third Thursday evening of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and offers food boxes to Decatur residents. All that is needed is a valid identification, a utility bill or piece of mail showing an address in the 72722 ZIP code area. Also available is a USDA commodity program to residents of Decatur and other communities without a commodity program. The commodity program requires income information. GFA Food Pantry open Tuesdays at Gentry AG church

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, eggs, and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry. Other items such as toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning products and baby supplies, are also available as supplies last. Clients are asked to call for an appointment. Lions Club meetings set in Gravette, Gentry

The Gravette Lions Club meets at noon, the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, 1870 Limekiln Road, in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron club meets third Tuesday of month

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria inside Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion, Post 25, meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. Legion meetings will be held in the community meeting room at the Arvest Bank until renovation of the civic center is complete. All veterans are encouraged to attend. The next meeting will be June 19 at 6 p.m.

Singing services planned at Falling Springs church

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Post meets

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
