GENTRY — Richard Lee Oliver, 80, of Gentry, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 7, 2018.
He was born on July 14, 1937, in Camden, Ill., to William and Nettie Oliver. He married Cathy Snyder-Oliver in La Harpe, Ill., on March 17, 1978. He attended Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry. He enjoyed doing yard work and had an interest in old tractors. He cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three daughters, seven brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Cathy of the home; two daughters, Barbara Oliver of La Harpe, Ill., and Christen Vancuren of Siloam Springs; one brother, Russell Oliver of Blandinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Kathleen Barry of Macomb, Ill., and Christine Agans of Rushville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kevin Oliver, Ross Wilmoth and Abri Vancuren; two step-grandchildren, Luke Vancuren and Gabe Vancuren.
Visitation will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Cremation arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
