Cowdin to hold book signing at Gravette library

GRAVETTE -- Gail Lee Cowden will hold a book signing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Gravette Public Library.

Cowdin spent years teaching writing to secondary students and adults. She regularly wrote stories and poetry but never sought to publish. After she wrote her first novel, "Deception and Redemption," she put it aside for more than 10 years before deciding to publish it for her family. She decided to self-publish since she thought it wouldn't be more than a passing fancy. However, when friends began spreading the word of her suspense novel, it became much more and she followed up with book signings, newspaper interviews and book talks in Arkansas and the Twin Cities.

Readers constantly asked for the next novel, so Gail wrote and published "The Final Deception" in 2017.

She has degrees from Minnesota University-Mankato and Hamline University in Minnesota. She currently lives in northwest Arkansas with her husband Theo, golden retriever Tilly and black cat Banjo.

Books will be available for purchase at the book signing event. The Gravette Public Library is located at 119 Main Street S.E.
