Freedom Festival to include car show, rides, pageants

GENTRY -- In addition to the musical performers who will entertain those who attend the 105th annual Freedom Festival on Wednesday, July 4, numerous other events and activities will be taking place in the Gentry City Park.

A car show will be held on the north side of the park, with cars on display much of the day. For more information, contact Tammie Runyan at 479-238-4979 or [email protected]. Entry forms are available on the Gentry Chamber of Commerce website: www.gentrychamberof commerce.com.

For the children, there will be inflatable rides, a petting zoo from Wild Wilderness Safari, and a kid's zone tent.

A variety of food and drink vendors will be on hand all day, and a spectacular fireworks display is again planned for the evening, beginning at dusk.

Little Miss and Mister Gentry Pageants are scheduled to be held on the stage at 1:30 p.m. Then, at 2 p.m., contestants will vie for the title of Miss Gentry in the Miss Gentry Pageant. Application forms for the Miss Gentry Pageant and the Little Miss and Mister Pageants are available on the Gentry Chamber of Commerce website at www.gentrychamberof commerce.com and must be turned in by 4:30 p.m. on June 26.
