Gravette Celebrates quasquicentennial

— "Looking Back and Moving Forward" is the theme for the quasquicentennial Gravette Day celebration set for Saturday, August 11.

The city of Gravette, named for Ellis Tillman (E.T.) Gravett, received its charter on August 9, 1893.

"This year we're celebrating the 125th anniversary of Gravette's founding. It is a time for reflecting on our history and celebrating our future," said Heather Finley, chairperson of the Gravette Day Committee.

The Committee is currently accepting applications for food and drink vendors. Application forms are available at the city of Gravette's website at www.gravettear.com. Interested vendors may submit completed applications in person or by mail to City of Gravette at 604 First Ave. S.E., Gravette, AR 72736 or by email to [email protected]. The submission deadline is April 1.

Citizens interested in participating in the planning of the event may attend the Gravette Day Committee meetings that are held at 1 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Gravette City Hall.
