Highfill EHC

GENTRY -- The Highfill Extension Homemakers Club met in the Gentry Public Library on March 19, with Peggy Dillahunty, club president, calling the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all. The song for the March meeting was "This Land Is Your Land."

Roll call was answered with the number of volunteer hours, with 136 hours logged by eight members. No guests were present.

Inspirational thoughts were helping others with quilts. New ideas shared included a crochet afghan by Eunice Bird. Shirley Philpott shared a pieced eagle quilt.

The minutes were read and the treasurer's report given. The County Council was April 20 at the Church of Christ in Cave Springs. The need to bring items for the "Piece of Home" basket was reported.

Peggy Dillahunty had a lesson on pest management and hazardous waste, with pantry pests and what to do about them discussed.

The meeting closed with a reading of the Homemakers' Prayer. The next meeting was scheduled for April 16.
