Police make arrest in connection to vehicle theft

GENTRY -- Police arrested Trevor J. Whitman, 19, of Siloam Springs, in connection with the theft of a pickup truck from the McDonald's parking lot in Gentry. Also arrested by the Siloam Springs Police Department was Shelby Wilhite in connection to knowingly being a passenger in the stolen vehicle.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Whitman is alleged to have taken the vehicle from the McDonald's parking lot in Gentry shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, and then drove it to Siloam Springs, where he picked up Wilhite and took her to the casino in West Siloam Springs to gamble. According to the affidavit, the truck was located in the Walmart parking lot in Siloam Springs with Whitman and Wilhite getting out of the vehicle on Monday, April 23, just before 2 a.m. Both were questioned and placed under arrest.

Whitman was still being held in the Benton County Jail on Sunday with bond set at $5,000.

Other Arrests

• Michelle Surber, 44, of 14020 Manco Drive in Gravette, was arrested April 24 in connection with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Surber was being held April 24 at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set.

• Frankie Deckard, 59, of 14020 Monica Drive in Gravette, arrested April 24 in connection with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Deckard was being held April 24 at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set.
