Vacation Bible School set at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette

The dates for Vacation Bible School at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette are June 10 to 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This year's theme is Shipwrecked, and the program is filled with incredible Bible Bible-learning experiences which will allow kids to see, hear, touch and even taste. The VBS will help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life. Save these dates on your calendar.

OCH of Gravette vendor fair

Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette will host its annual spring vendor fair during Hospital Week. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the hospital cafeteria. Individuals or organizations seeking to promote or sell their services or goods or those wanting to raise awareness or funds for causes or nonprofits are invited to participate. To reserve a booth, contact Amanda Gittlein, 479-344-6464. Booth reservations for vendors are $10. Tables and chairs are available for use but all other materials must be provided by individual vendors.

Town hall meeting set in Gentry

The city of Gentry will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, in the Gentry Public Library's McKee Community Room, located at 105 E. Main Street in Gentry. Details on the Master Park Plan, along with updates on other current projects, will be shared.

Jean, spirit wear collection drive

Bright Futures Gravette is collecting gently used and new jeans and Gravette Lion spirit wear during the month of May. The clothing items will be distributed to Gravette students during the Back to School Bash in August. Last year, 300 pairs were given out and it is estimated 300 pairs will be needed again to meet the need. Boys and girls sizes for elementary ages are needed most. Collections will be taken at area churches but, if you miss the collection time at your church, there will be a collection barrel at the school administration office located at 609 Birmingham Street S.E. Community forums

The Gravette School District is proposing the construction of a gymnasium/safe room at Gravette High School, a career and technical center addition, a middle school renovation for technology classes and a remodel for a safer entry and exit at Glenn Duffy Elementary School. Community forums to discuss the Gravette School District's facilities proposal, election, and millage information will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Highland's Crossing Community Room in Bella Vista; at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 14, at both the Hiwasse Community Room and the Maysville Community Room (old school); at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the old Shiloh Church in Sulphur Springs; and at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Gravette High School Commons. The request for an increase of 2.5 new mills to the district's existing 37.2 millage rate will be voted on at the May 22 annual school election. Amateur radio club to meet June 7

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club holds its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Highland Christian Church. For those interested in acquiring an amateur radio license, the club also administers FCC exams on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. All meetings and exams are held at Highland Christian Church, located at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd (Hwy. 279), in Bella Vista. NAGS to meet in Bentonville May 21

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21, at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 South Main. Erin Rowe, chef and author, will present a program on Ozark culinary history. For further information, call 479-271-6820. The public is welcome.

Decatur UMC Pantry open first, third Thursdays

The Decatur United Methodist Church Food Pantry is open the first and third Thursday evening of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and offers food boxes to Decatur residents. All that is needed is a valid identification, a utility bill or piece of mail showing an address in the 72722 ZIP code area. Also available is a USDA commodity program to residents of Decatur and other communities without a commodity program. The commodity program requires income information. GFA Food Pantry open Tuesdays at Gentry AG church

The GFA Food Pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The church partnered with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, eggs, and meats as part of the only certified food bank in Gentry. Other items such as toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning products and baby supplies, are also available as supplies last. Clients are asked to call for an appointment. Lions Club meetings set in Gravette, Gentry

The Gravette Lions Club meets at noon, the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, 1870 Limekiln Road, in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Tired Iron club meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria inside Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion meets third Tuesday of month

Gravette American Legion, Post 25, meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. Legion meetings will be held in the community meeting room at the Arvest Bank until renovation of the civic center is complete. All veterans are encouraged to attend. The next meeting will be May 15 at 7 p.m.

Singing services planned at Falling Springs church

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Post meets

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
