GENTRY -- Members of the Gentry Senior Activity Center traveled to Harrison on May 4 to participate in the 34th annual senior Olympics, and the Gentry senior athletes brought home 13 medals from the contests.

The event included competitions against others in their age brackets in such things as nail pounding, spin casting, stationary cycling and more. A competition with BB rifles was also a part of the contest.

And bringing home medals for Gentry were Johnny Burger, James Tucker, Deanne Tucker, Maxine Foster and Vel Hornberger, some winning numerous medals in the competition.

Unfortunately, Edith James, 98 and a prior Gentry champion in the Olympics, was not able to attend this year's event. Her teammates, however, wanted her name mentioned along with theirs since she has oft participated and won awards.
