— Donald G. Smith, 92, formerly of Gentry, died May 10, 2018, at his home in Florence, Colo.

He was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Concrete, Colo., to Glenn Smith and Elizabeth Seward Smith. He grew up and attended school in Canon City, Colo. On Oct. 19, 1944, he married Wildeana Mohr in Canon City. In 1946 they moved to Boulder, Colo., where he owned and operated Donald G. Smith Excavating and Trucking for 33 years. In 1978, they moved to Gentry, Ark., where he owned a cattle and chicken ranch. He always maintained a cabin in Alma, Colo., where he loved fishing in Montgomery Lake and jeeping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Barnard; brother, Bill Smith; and granddaughter, Heidi Baer.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wildeana; daughters, Donna (Will) Feltman and Linda (Ron) McLean; grandchildren, Rhoni Doss, Realene Atwood, Julie Herod, Bridgitt Ragsdale, Eric McLean, Lori Bass and Shelly Kittleson; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m., May 26, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canon City. An inurnment and sharing service will be held at Alma, Colo., on July 21. Arrangements are by Harwood Funeral Home.
