Gentry girls play hard to stay in match against Pea Ridge

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers fell to the Lady Blackhawks of Pea Ridge on Thursday, 25-16, 25-10 and 28-26, with the Gentry girls putting up a tremendous fight to stay in the match in the third set.

The girls also fell at Harrison in three straight sets on Sept. 25 by scores of 25-11, 25-5 and 25-8.

The losses put the Gentry team at 1-13 overall and 0-10 in conference play.

On Saturday, the Lady Pioneers fell, 2-0, to the Lady Trojans of Southwest High School in Washburn, Mo., in a non-conference match, 25-20 and 25-15.

The girls were scheduled to play at Gravette on Tuesday (after press time).
