GRAVETTE -- The Lady Lions defeated the visiting Lady Pioneers from Gentry on Oct. 2 in three straight sets, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-18.

The Lady Pioneers played strong at times but not consistently, and that allowed the Lady Lions, who were strong at the net and in the backcourt, to get the upper hand in each set and take the victory.

The only consolation for Gentry was that their set scores were a bit stronger than they were when they faced Gravette last month and lost 25-10, 25-9 and 25-15.

After last week, Gentry stood at 0-11 in conference play and 1-14 in overall play this season.

Gentry's next conference game was to be at home on Tuesday (after press time) against Farmington.
